Tensor plc design and manufacture smart card and biometric Time & Attendance and Access Control equipment. Their Hail Weston site comprises a number of buildings each with it’s own central heating system. Some of the buildings are used less frequently than others, meaning that the heating was often on when rooms were unoccupied. There is no gas in Hail Weston, so the boilers use kerosene oil, but one boiler is still solid fuel, using anthracite.

Elouise Lingerie is shop in Buckden, Cambridgeshire selling high-class ladies lingerie, swimwear and nightwear. In 2008 their manager was considering changing their old gas boiler, which was over 10 years old, for a new combi boiler. At the same time she wanted to install a system that turned on the heating only when they needed it.

David Manning has a four-bedroom 26-year-old detached family house in Dundonald, Belfast. The home is heated by an oil-fired boiler. In 2009 Mr Manning, who is a school headmaster, was looking at ways of improving the energy efficiency of his home and was thinking about installing an energy management system.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC), a charity formed in 2004 from a merger of The Marine Society and the Sea Cadet Association, exists to offer seafarers and prospective seafarers a range of services to enhance their well-being and lifestyle. The work of MSSC in support of professional seafarers has evolved over 250 years, reflecting the experiences of the UK´s maritime fortunes.

In June 2009 headmaster, Tim Baker, was investigating how he could improve the efficiency of the school heating system. He compared control systems from suppliers on the Greenwich Preferred List and those of HeatingSave, and decided to install a HeatingSave Enterprise system because “There is nothing like it on the market“.

Woodlands Junior School in Tonbridge, Kent, teaches approximately 380 boys and girls from the ages of 7-11, and employs about 60 staff.

Welwyn St Mary’s Primary School takes children from ages 4 to 11. Built originally in 1940 as a secondary school, St Mary’s is a large school with spacious buildings and grounds. In addition to big classrooms the school has a gym, two libraries, a computer suite, a hall with stage and a music room.
